Commercial jets are sluggish to respond to elevator changes in part due to the screaming rotational speed of their jet engines. These huge engines are like massive gyroscopes and only want to stay in one axial direction. Changing that direction, tilting up or down, or side to side, takes effort. But if you just lift or drop an engine, when the wings waggle up and down, you’re not changing the rotor’s axis and so you’re not bucking the gyroscopic affect.
Idea: to stabilize jets, add artificial jets, just big spinning gyroscopes, in perpendicular axis to the jet’s engines. These would stabilize the jet’s body from rolling around its nose to tail axis.
